Batik Air is Indonesia's premier full-service airline and the premium carrier of the Lion Air Group. Headquartered at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, the airline operates a fleet of over 60 aircraft serving more than 40 domestic and international destinations across Indonesia, Southeast Asia, and beyond.

Established in 2012, Batik Air launched operations on May 3, 2013 with inaugural flights connecting Jakarta to Manado and Yogyakarta. The airline was created to provide a full-service alternative within the Lion Air Group, positioning itself between budget carriers and legacy airlines. The name "Batik" derives from the traditional Indonesian fabric art form, with the airline's logo featuring a canting (the pen-like tool used in batik-making) stylized as the letter "B."

Batik Air is not a member of any global airline alliance but maintains a codeshare partnership with Emirates, allowing connections from Jakarta to five Indonesian destinations. The airline has earned 3-Star status from Skytrax and is recognized for offering complimentary meals, in-flight entertainment, and generous baggage allowances on all flights.
