Overview

Kuwait is a small but wealthy oil-rich nation located at the northern tip of the Persian Gulf. Despite its modest size, it has a well-developed aviation sector centered on Kuwait International Airport (KWI), which serves as the gateway to the country and a regional connecting point.

The country is primarily a business travel destination, with significant expatriate populations from South Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Arab world. Kuwait City, the capital, combines modern architecture with traditional Arabian heritage, including the iconic Kuwait Towers and historic souks.

For air travelers, Kuwait is straightforward with a single major airport. Kuwait Airways is the national carrier, while Jazeera Airways provides low-cost options to regional and medium-haul destinations. The country serves as a transit point between South Asia and Europe for some travelers.
