Overview
Morocco is North Africa's westernmost country and a major gateway between Europe and Africa. Just 14 kilometers from Spain across the Strait of Gibraltar, Morocco offers travelers a blend of Arab, Berber, and European influences. The country draws visitors with its imperial cities (Marrakech, Fez, Meknes, Rabat), Sahara Desert excursions, Atlantic beaches, and the Atlas Mountains.
Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) is the main international hub and base for Royal Air Maroc, the national carrier and oneworld alliance member. Marrakech (RAK) is the second-busiest airport, receiving heavy tourist traffic from Europe. Agadir (AGA), Fez (FEZ), and Tangier (TNG) also handle international flights, with several European low-cost carriers serving multiple Moroccan airports directly.
Morocco's proximity to Europe makes it an easy 3-hour flight from major European cities, and Royal Air Maroc's Casablanca hub offers connections throughout Africa and to North America.
