Germania Fluggesellschaft mbH was a German leisure airline headquartered in Berlin. Founded in 1978 as Special Air Transport (SAT), the airline grew to become a significant player in the German charter and leisure travel market, carrying approximately 4 million passengers annually at its peak.

Germania operated as a hybrid carrier, combining scheduled services with wet-lease operations for other airlines. The airline was particularly known for serving Mediterranean holiday destinations, the Canary Islands, and Middle Eastern routes popular with German tourists.

Unlike many European carriers, Germania never joined an airline alliance. The airline maintained independence throughout its 40-year history, focusing on its core market of German leisure travelers seeking sun destinations.

In February 2019, Germania filed for insolvency citing a combination of factors: rising fuel prices due to dollar strength, a weak Euro affecting operating costs, overcapacity in the German market, and delays in aircraft deliveries that prevented fleet modernization. Operations ceased immediately on February 4, 2019, stranding thousands of passengers.
