About

LATAM Airlines is the largest airline in Latin America, operating a fleet of over 370 aircraft to more than 140 destinations across South America, North America, the Caribbean, Oceania, and Europe. Headquartered in Santiago, Chile, LATAM was formed in 2012 through the merger of Chile's LAN Airlines and Brazil's TAM Linhas Aereas, creating a pan-Latin American aviation giant.

The airline is part of LATAM Airlines Group, which includes subsidiaries in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, and Peru. LATAM left the Oneworld alliance in May 2020 following a strategic investment by Delta Air Lines, which acquired a 20% stake. While no longer part of a global alliance, LATAM maintains partnerships with Delta, Aeromexico, and Alaska Airlines.

The brand identity combines indigo (representing LAN's blue heritage and TAM's red) symbolizing efficiency and elegance, with coral representing Latin American passion and energy.
