Introduction

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is the primary airport serving the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, strategically located between the two cities. As the largest hub for American Airlines and one of the busiest airports in the world, DFW handles over 75 million passengers annually.

The airport has five terminals (A, B, C, D, and E) arranged in a semi-circular layout around a central highway. Each terminal has two concourses connected by a central area:

  • Terminal A: American Airlines domestic
  • Terminal B: American Airlines domestic, Spirit
  • Terminal C: American Airlines domestic
  • Terminal D: International flights, American Airlines international
  • Terminal E: American Airlines domestic and international partners

All terminals are connected airside by the free Skylink automated train, making DFW one of the easiest major airports for connections. The Grand Hyatt DFW hotel is located in Terminal D.

Purchase SIM cards and mobile phones at:

  • InMotion Entertainment - Terminals A, B, C, D, E

  • Wireless vending machines - near gates

Major carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon) have prepaid options. Typical tourist SIM packages run $30-50 for 30 days with data.

For better prices, consider ordering in advance from Amazon or picking up a SIM at a carrier store in Dallas or Fort Worth after arrival.

Cash & ATMs

ATMs are located throughout all terminals, typically near restrooms and food courts. Major banks represented include Chase, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo.

Out-of-network fees typically run $3-5 per transaction. For better rates, use your bank's ATM network or withdraw cash at a bank branch in the city.

Currency exchange: Travelex operates locations in Terminal D (international arrivals) and other terminals. Airport exchange rates include significant markups - using a debit card abroad or services like Wise typically offers better value.
