Aeroflot Russian Airlines is the flag carrier of Russia and one of the world's oldest airlines, founded in 1923. Headquartered in Moscow at Sheremetyevo International Airport (SVO), Aeroflot operates a fleet of approximately 190 aircraft serving domestic Russian destinations and international routes to Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and select other regions.

Important Note on Current Operations: Since 2022, Aeroflot's international network has been significantly impacted by sanctions following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. The airline's SkyTeam membership has been suspended since April 2022, meaning SkyTeam benefits (lounge access, mileage earning/redemption on partners) are not available when flying Aeroflot or when Aeroflot passengers travel on other SkyTeam carriers. The airline no longer operates flights to the European Union, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, or many other Western destinations.

Aeroflot remains Russia's largest airline, operating extensive domestic services across Russia's vast territory and international flights to destinations including Turkey, UAE, China, Thailand, India, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Egypt, Cuba, and other countries that have not imposed airspace restrictions.
