About
TAROM (Transporturile Aeriene Romane) is the flag carrier and oldest airline of Romania, with roots dating back to 1920 when it was founded as CFRNA (Compagnie Franco-Roumaine de Navigation Aerienne). This makes TAROM one of the world's oldest continuously operating airlines. The airline is headquartered in Bucharest and operates from its primary hub at Henri Coanda International Airport (OTP).
As a member of SkyTeam since 2010, TAROM offers connectivity through partners including Air France-KLM, Delta Air Lines, Korean Air, and Aeroflot. The airline participates in the Flying Blue frequent flyer program, shared with Air France and KLM, allowing passengers to earn and redeem miles across SkyTeam carriers.
TAROM operates a mixed fleet of Boeing 737s and ATR 72 turboprops, primarily serving European destinations and select Middle Eastern routes. The airline is state-owned and has faced financial challenges over the years, though it continues to maintain Romania's aviation connectivity with the wider world.
