Prague Airport Guide

Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG) is the main airport serving Prague and the Czech Republic. Its regular and charter flights use two adjoining passenger terminals:

The airport has two passenger terminals arranged in a linear configuration:

• Terminal 1 handles flights to destinations outside the Schengen Area.
• Terminal 2 handles flights to Schengen destinations.

The public halls are connected by an indoor walking route. Transfer passengers can also move between the airside areas through the signed transfer route, with passport and security controls determined by the direction of travel.

Key fact: T1 and T2 form one connected complex. A Schengen/non-Schengen transfer uses passport control and security; a same-terminal connection follows the airport's terminal-specific flow.

Terminal Layout

T1 contains Piers A and B and uses security screening at individual gate areas. T2 contains Pier C and D-numbered departure gates and uses a central security checkpoint. Gate allocations can change, so use the live flight display.

Schengen vs Non-Schengen Transfers

• Schengen to Schengen (T2 to T2): No passport control needed, straightforward walk
• Non-Schengen to Non-Schengen (T1 to T1): No passport control needed
• Schengen to Non-Schengen (T2 to T1): use the transfer route, passport control, and T1 gate security
• Non-Schengen to Schengen (T1 to T2): use the transfer route, passport control, and T2 central security

Use the minimum connection accepted by the operating airline for a protected ticket. The airport publishes operational MCTs for airline handling, but those are not a promise for separate tickets or baggage that is not checked through.

International Arrivals Process

For passengers arriving from non-Schengen countries and connecting to Schengen flights:

1. Exit aircraft at Terminal 1 gates
2. Follow transfer signs toward Schengen gates
3. Clear passport control (EU/EEA citizens can use e-gates)
4. Proceed to Terminal 2 gate area

The official protected-transfer flow says not to collect baggage. Confirm that the bag is checked through; a separate-ticket itinerary may require entering the public area and checking in again.

The airport has no railway station. The primary city-transit route is trolleybus 59 to Nádraží Veleslavín for Metro Line A. Bus 100 connects with Metro Line B at Zličín, while the separately ticketed Airport Express links the airport with Prague Main Station. Road travel is traffic-dependent.

Taxi

Uber Airport is the airport's official taxi service. Order through the Uber app, self-service kiosks, or staffed counters and use the pickup point directly outside the relevant arrivals hall. Other licensed services use designated express-parking taxi points; do not accept unsolicited offers.

Uber

The official Uber Airport product displays the quoted price before booking and can also be ordered without the app at airport kiosks or counters. Follow the issued PIN and pickup instructions. Other app-based services use their own designated locations.

Airport Express Bus (AE)

The Airport Express (line AE) is a separately ticketed service to Prague Main Railway Station (Praha hlavní nádraží). Check the current operator timetable and stops before travel.

To Prague Main Station:

1. Exit arrivals and follow signs to "Airport Express"
2. Board the AE bus (blue bus with airplane logo)
3. Arrive at Prague Main Station in 35-45 minutes

The AE bus does not accept regular Prague public transit tickets. Purchase a separate ticket.

Trolleybus 59 + Metro

The airport recommends trolleybus 59 to Nádraží Veleslavín for Metro Line A.

To City Center (Staroměstská/Old Town):

1. Exit arrivals and follow signs to bus stops
2. Board trolleybus 59 toward Nádraží Veleslavín
3. Exit at Nádraží Veleslavín metro station
4. Transfer to Metro Line A (green) toward Depo Hostivař
5. Exit at Staroměstská for Old Town (15 minutes) or Můstek for Wenceslas Square

Regular Prague integrated fares apply. Purchase a valid ticket before boarding from airport/stop machines, a public-transit counter, or the PID Lítačka app, and follow the validation rules for the ticket type.

Night Bus 910

Night routes 907 and 910 serve the airport. Their paths and first/last trips can change, so plan the travel-date journey in PID Lítačka instead of relying on a fixed overnight table.

Prague Airport offers parking in multiple facilities near both terminals.
