Wizz Air is Hungary's largest airline and one of Europe's leading ultra-low-cost carriers. Founded in 2003 and headquartered in Budapest, the airline launched its first flight in May 2004 from Katowice to London Luton using an Airbus A320. Since then, Wizz Air has grown into a major European carrier, publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange (FTSE 250) since 2015.

As of late 2025, Wizz Air operates a fleet of over 250 all-Airbus aircraft (A320 and A321 family), connecting nearly 200 destinations across 45+ countries from 36 bases in 18 countries. The airline is the largest operator of the Airbus A321neo in Europe and the Middle East, and maintains one of the youngest fleets globally with an average aircraft age of approximately 3 years.

Wizz Air focuses primarily on Central and Eastern Europe, with 75% of operations concentrated in CEE markets. The airline also serves destinations in North Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia. The group includes subsidiaries Wizz Air Hungary, Wizz Air Malta, and Wizz Air UK.
