Overview
Oslo Airport Gardermoen (OSL) is Norway's main airport, about 47 km north of central Oslo. Passenger processing is in one terminal complex with domestic and international gate zones branching from the central departures area.
Avinor's current transfer map identifies A, B, and C as domestic gate areas and D, E, and F as international gate areas. International space is divided as required for Schengen and non-Schengen traffic, with passport control on applicable routes. Check the flight display for the gate and the time shown to reach it.
Do not confuse OSL with Sandefjord Airport Torp (TRF), a separate airport well outside Oslo with its own ground-transport journey.

Connections & Transfers
OSL has one terminal complex, but a connection may still involve passport control, customs, baggage collection, or security. Follow Transfer signs and use Avinor's rules for the exact origin, destination, airline combination, ticket, and baggage arrangement.
Terminal Layout
| Area | Primary use |
|---|---|
| A, B, C | Domestic departures |
| D, E, F | International departures |
Gate assignments and walking times are shown on airport displays. Avinor may also use temporary gate arrangements during peaks, so follow live signage rather than an old gate-range table.
Transfer Tips
- Norway to Norway: Follow Transfer signs and go to the next gate when baggage is through-checked; otherwise use arrivals, collect it, and check in again.
- Norway to international: Follow Transfer signs toward the international gate area. Passport control applies for a non-Schengen departure.
- International to international: Follow Transfer signage; use the signed non-Schengen route at passport control when applicable. If baggage is not checked through, use arrivals and check in again.
- International to domestic: Avinor's domestic-transfer channel near gate D2 is only for qualifying same-day through tickets, listed airline combinations and eligible origins, and only while the facility is open. If the itinerary is not eligible—including hand-baggage-only passengers—use the arrivals hall and complete the normal departure security process.
Use the airline's published minimum connection time for a protected itinerary. For separate tickets, build in time for a full arrival and new check-in.

Getting In and Out
Oslo Airport is about 47 km north of central Oslo. The railway station is directly below the terminal and is the primary public-transport hub. Flytoget and Vy both serve Oslo S; airport coaches and regional buses cover destinations where rail is less convenient.
Public Transit
Flytoget Airport Express
Flytoget operates dedicated airport express trains to Oslo S and onward stations. Its current service page advertises a 19-minute fastest trip to the city centre and departures as often as every 10 minutes; check the live planner because engineering works and time of day can change the timetable.
To Oslo Central Station (Oslo S): Follow the Flytoget signs at the airport station and buy or validate the correct ticket before travel. Flytoget also serves Lillestrøm and several stations west of Oslo; verify that the train shown serves the desired stop.
VY (Norwegian State Railways)
Vy regional and local trains also call at the airport. Avinor says regional trains on the Skien–Oslo–Lillehammer/Trondheim corridor and local trains on the Kongsberg–Eidsvoll corridor serve OSL.
To Oslo Central Station (Oslo S): Use the Vy journey planner for the current train number, departure, ticket validity, and engineering changes. Do not board based on an old line number alone.
Bus Services
Avinor currently lists Flybussen airport coaches, NOR-WAY Flybussekspressen, Ruter buses, OSL Ekspressen, Vy bus services, hotel shuttles, and other regional coaches. Routes have different stop patterns, so use Avinor's public-transport directory to reach the relevant operator and current timetable.
