Introduction

St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) is the primary airport serving the greater St. Louis metropolitan area in Missouri. Located approximately 14 miles northwest of downtown St. Louis, the airport handles nearly 16 million passengers annually and offers nonstop service to over 80 destinations across the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Europe.

Southwest Airlines dominates STL, accounting for approximately 59% of the airport's passenger traffic. The airport also serves as a focus city for several carriers including American Airlines and Frontier Airlines.

The airport consists of two terminals that are not connected post-security:

The terminals are located approximately one mile apart. There is no airside connection between terminals, so all inter-terminal transfers require taking a shuttle bus or MetroLink and re-clearing security.

New Routes (2025-2026): Delta began nonstop service to JFK in September 2025. British Airways will launch nonstop service to London Heathrow in April 2026, marking the first STL-Heathrow connection in the airport's history. Alaska Airlines will begin service to Portland (PDX) in May 2026.
