Orlando Airport Guide

Orlando International Airport (MCO) is the principal airport for Orlando and Central Florida's theme-park region. Its passenger facilities are Terminals A, B, and C.

Terminals A and B are the two sides of the older north terminal complex. Automated Gate Link trains connect the central landside building to four gate areas: Terminal A serves gates 1-29 and 100-129, while Terminal B serves gates 30-59 and 70-99. The official map shows two separate security zones—gates 1-59 and gates 70-129—not one secure atrium linking all four gate areas.

Terminal C is a separate terminal south of A/B, with its own check-in, security, baggage claim, and gates. The landside Terminal Link train connects A/B with the Train Station; Terminal C is reached from the Train Station area by the signed pedestrian route. Airline locations can change, so verify the terminal and gate group on the flight display.

Key fact: MCO has multiple secure zones. Gates 1-59 share one A/B checkpoint route and gates 70-129 share another; Terminal C has its own checkpoint. Moving between those zones requires going landside and clearing TSA security again.

Terminal Layout

• Terminal A: check-in/baggage-claim side for gates 1-29 and 100-129
• Terminal B: check-in/baggage-claim side for gates 30-59 and 70-99
• Gate Link trains: connect the A/B central building with each gate area
• Terminal C: independent south terminal, connected landside through the Train Station complex

Getting Between Airsides

• Within one gate area: walk to the onward gate without leaving security.
• Between gate areas behind the same checkpoint group: follow the airline and airport connection signs; the route may use the central secure side of that checkpoint group.
• Between gates 1-59 and gates 70-129: return by Gate Link train, go landside, use the other checkpoint, and take the appropriate Gate Link train.
• Between A/B and C: exit security, follow signs to the Terminal Link/Train Station, continue by the pedestrian connection to or from C, and clear security at the departure terminal.

The airline determines the valid minimum connection for a protected ticket. For a self-transfer or a change of secure zone, allow for the full landside route, baggage handling, check-in deadlines, and a new security screening.

International Arrivals Process

International arrivals use federal-inspection facilities in the A/B gate complex or Terminal C. Unless the flight departed from a U.S. preclearance airport:

1. Exit aircraft at your arrival gate
2. Clear immigration
3. Collect checked baggage at international arrivals carousel
4. Clear customs
5. Re-check bags at the transfer desk if connecting
6. Clear TSA security again and use the signed route to the onward gate area or terminal

Tips for Tight Connections

• Check both the terminal letter and gate number; they determine the security checkpoint and train route.
• Do not follow an airline-specific terminal list copied in advance—operations can move.
• If a delay threatens a protected connection, contact the operating airline before leaving the secure area.

MCO is southeast of downtown Orlando. Road options include taxis, app-based rides, shuttles, rental cars, and private vehicles; travel times to downtown, International Drive, Universal, Disney, and the coast depend on traffic.

Brightline serves South Florida from the Orlando station in the Train Station complex adjacent to Terminal C. From A/B, take the landside Terminal Link to the Train Station; from C, follow the pedestrian bridge signs. There is no SunRail station at MCO, although several LYNX airport routes connect with SunRail elsewhere.

Uber and Lyft are available at MCO. Pickup locations:

Main Terminal:

1. From baggage claim (Level 1), follow signs to "Ground Transportation"
2. Exit to the terminal curbside
3. The designated rideshare pickup area is on Level 1, Ground Transportation area (between the A and B sides)

Terminal C:

1. From arrivals, follow signs to Ground Transportation
2. Rideshare pickup is at the designated curb area

Typical fares:

• Downtown Orlando: $20-28
• International Drive: $15-22
• Universal Orlando: $22-30
• Walt Disney World: $35-50
• Kissimmee: $25-35

Wait times average 5-15 minutes. During peak tourist seasons and special events, expect longer waits.

Taxis are available at designated taxi stands outside baggage claim on Level 1:

Taxi flat rates to major destinations are posted at the taxi stand. Credit cards accepted.

Mears Connect (formerly Disney's Magical Express replacement) offers shared shuttle service to Walt Disney World resorts for approximately $32 round-trip per adult.

LYNX Bus serves MCO from the ground-transportation level of Terminals A and B. The January 2026 airport brochure lists:

• Links 11 and 51: downtown Orlando/LYNX Central Station by different local routes
• Link 42: International Drive, Florida Mall, and Sand Lake Road SunRail
• Link 311: Florida Mall, Sand Lake Road SunRail, Destination Parkway/Universal Epic Universe, and Disney Springs
• Link 436S: Semoran Boulevard toward Altamonte Springs SunRail
• FastLink 407: Kissimmee, Medical City, and Lake Nona

How to Ride LYNX

1. From A/B baggage claim, follow signs to Level 1 Ground Transportation and the LYNX spaces shown in the airport brochure.
2. From Terminal C, use the landside route through the Train Station and Terminal Link to the A/B bus area.
3. Check the live LYNX trip planner for the route, platform, fare, timetable, and service alerts.

Route 111 was discontinued and must not be used for current trip planning.

Brightline (high-speed rail):

• Orlando station location: Train Station complex adjacent to Terminal C; use Terminal Link from A/B or the pedestrian bridge from C
• Destinations: South Florida stations including West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami

Budget tip: Off-site parking lots along Semoran Boulevard offer rates from $6-10/day with free shuttle service. Popular options include The Parking Spot and Park 'N Go. Book in advance during peak tourist seasons.

Valet parking is available at the Main Terminal for $35/day.

MCO offers extensive shopping options, with the newest and most upscale selections in Terminal C.

The Club MCO

• Location: Airside 4, near Gate 90

This is the primary Priority Pass lounge at MCO's Main Terminal.

Delta Sky Club

• Location: Airside 2, near Gate 71
• Access: Delta Sky Club membership, Delta One/First Class, Delta Reserve Amex (with same-day Delta flight), Delta Platinum/Diamond Medallion status

American Airlines Admirals Club

• Location: Airside 4, near Gate 99

United Club

MCO does not have a United Club. United passengers with lounge access can use partner arrangements or The Club MCO with Priority Pass.

Terminal C Lounges

As of early 2025, Terminal C lounge options are limited. JetBlue operates a Mosaic lounge area for JetBlue Mosaic members on select flights.

Day Passes

The Club MCO offers day passes for approximately $45-50 when capacity allows.

On-Airport:

• Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport: Located inside the Main Terminal on Level 3 (airside - post-security access available for connecting passengers). Rooms available for day use or overnight. Ideal for early departures or long layovers. Connected to both sides of the terminal via direct access.

Near Airport with Shuttle:

• Hilton Orlando Airport: Directly across from Terminal A, covered walkway connection (no shuttle needed)

Near International Drive/Theme Parks:

For travelers with extended layovers or overnight stays before visiting attractions, International Drive hotels (15-25 minutes from MCO) offer proximity to restaurants and entertainment.

Orlando is synonymous with theme parks, but the region offers more than attractions:
