About
GoJet Airlines is a regional airline headquartered in Bridgeton, Missouri, near St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL). Founded in 2004 as a subsidiary of Trans States Holdings, GoJet began operations in 2005 and has grown to become an important regional partner for major US carriers.
Important: GoJet Airlines does not sell tickets directly to passengers. The airline operates flights exclusively under capacity purchase agreements (CPAs) with major US carriers:
- United Express (for United Airlines)
When you book a flight operated by GoJet Airlines, you purchase your ticket through United Airlines. The flight will be marketed with a United flight number, even though the aircraft and crew belong to GoJet. Under this "capacity purchase agreement" model, GoJet provides the aircraft and crew while United Airlines handles ticketing, marketing, pricing, and customer service.
GoJet Airlines operates daily flights to destinations across the United States from United's hub airports. The airline shares a heritage with Trans States Airlines, which ceased operations in 2020, and is part of the Trans States Holdings family that has been a significant player in US regional aviation for decades.

Baggage Policy
GoJet Airlines does not set baggage policies. All baggage rules, fees, and allowances are determined by United Airlines.
Carry-On Considerations
The CRJ-550's larger overhead bins can accommodate most standard carry-on bags. However, during full flights, you may occasionally be asked to gate-check your bag at no charge.
Gate-check process:
- Bring your carry-on to the gate as normal
- If gate-checking is required, staff will tag your bag
- Retrieve the bag at your destination at the jet bridge door (not baggage claim)
- Remove valuables, medications, and electronics before gate-checking
Tip: The CRJ-550 has better overhead storage than most regional jets, but a personal item that fits under the seat is still guaranteed cabin space.

Special Items on Regional Aircraft
Regional jets have limited cargo hold space. Oversized items (golf clubs, skis, musical instruments) may not fit and could be sent on a later flight. When checking sports equipment:
- Notify the gate agent at boarding
- Arrive early to ensure space is available
- Consider shipping ahead for essential items

Tips & Tricks
Booking
- Can't find availability? Regional routes often have limited frequency—check alternate dates
- Connecting flights: Allow 60-90 minutes minimum when connecting to/from regional flights
- Same ticket: Always book regional connections on the same ticket as your mainline flight for protection during delays
- Aircraft type: Look for CRJ-550 specifically—it's one of the most comfortable 50-seat regional jets
At the Airport
- Arrive early: Regional check-in can be busy at hub airports
- Gate location: Regional gates may be in separate concourses—check walking time
- Board on time: Even with larger bins, overhead space fills on full flights
- Gate-check valuables: Remove electronics and medications before gate-checking bags
During the Flight
- Download the United app: Entertainment, WiFi, and flight info all in one place
- Use the self-serve station: Unique CRJ-550 amenity for snacks and water
- Charge devices: USB power at every seat
- No middle seats: 2-2 configuration means window or aisle for everyone
Understanding Flight Numbers
United Express flight indicator:
- Flight numbers typically 3000-6999
- Check "Operated by" in flight details to confirm GoJet
Best Seat Choices on CRJ-550
First Class:
- Row 1: Most legroom, though no under-seat storage during takeoff/landing
- Rows 2-3: Good balance of space and storage
Economy Plus:
- Rows 4-5: Extra legroom section between First and Economy
Economy:
- Front of Economy section: Closer to First Class service
- Avoid last rows: Near lavatory, may be noisy, limited recline
Weather and Delays
Regional aircraft are subject to the same weather and ATC delays as mainline jets. During severe weather:
- Check the United app for real-time updates
- Have flexible plans for tight connections
- Consider booking earlier connections during winter months at weather-prone hubs
For Nervous Flyers
- Regional jets are certified to the same FAA safety standards as larger aircraft
- GoJet Airlines maintains a strong safety record
- Turbulence may feel more pronounced on smaller aircraft but is equally safe
- Flight crews are fully FAA-certified and trained
