About

Air Serbia is the flag carrier of the Republic of Serbia, headquartered in Belgrade. The airline was established in 2013 as a rebranding of Jat Airways (formerly JAT Yugoslav Airlines), which traces its roots back to 1927, making it one of the oldest airlines in Europe by lineage.

In 2013, Etihad Airways acquired a 49% stake in the airline, leading to a complete transformation including new aircraft, updated service standards, and a revamped brand identity. While Etihad divested its stake in 2022, the partnership left lasting improvements in service quality and operational standards. Air Serbia is now fully owned by the Serbian government.

Operating a fleet of Airbus A320 family aircraft, A330 widebodies, and ATR 72 turboprops, Air Serbia connects Belgrade to over 90 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and North America. The airline is not currently a member of any global alliance, though it maintains codeshare agreements with Etihad Airways, Alitalia (now ITA Airways), and other partners.
