About

Ryanair is an Irish ultra-low-cost, short-haul airline built around point-to-point flying from a large network of European and North African bases. It is not a member of a global airline alliance, and it does not run a traditional connecting hub-and-spoke system.

The lowest fare can work well when you travel with only the included under-seat bag. If you need an overhead bag, checked baggage, a chosen seat, or airport service, compare the final checkout price rather than the headline fare.

Baggage Policy

Direct answer: every fare includes one small personal bag up to 40 × 30 × 20 cm (about 16 × 12 × 8 in), and it must fit under the seat. The older 40 × 20 × 25 cm dimensions are no longer current.

An overhead cabin bag is not part of the base allowance. Priority & 2 Cabin Bags adds one 10 kg bag up to 55 × 40 × 20 cm for the overhead locker, subject to availability. Ryanair also sells 10 kg, 20 kg, and 23 kg checked-bag products.

Bag prices vary by route, travel date, product availability, and when you add the bag. Use the live booking or official fee table; the airport or gate is normally the least forgiving place to discover that your bag exceeds the purchased allowance. A bag that does not fit the sizer may be refused or placed in the hold for the applicable gate fee.
