Baggage Policy
Direct answer: Delta includes one carry-on bag and one personal item with every travel experience, including Delta Main Basic. The carry-on can be up to 22 × 14 × 9 in (56 × 35 × 23 cm), including handles and wheels. Delta does not publish one universal personal-item measurement; it must fit under the seat.
For domestic travel within the United States, a standard first checked bag for Delta Main or Delta Comfort is now $45 each way, and the second is $55. A standard bag is up to 62 linear inches (157 cm) and 50 lb (23 kg). Delta First includes two checked bags up to 70 lb (32 kg) each.
International allowances are not safely summarized by one transatlantic or transpacific table: the result depends on origin, destination, travel experience, ticket date, status, card benefit, and operating carrier. Check the baggage result attached to your reservation before purchasing.
Eligible Delta SkyMiles American Express primary cardmembers now receive the first and second standard checked bags free on domestic Delta-operated flights; companions on the same reservation receive the first bag benefit, subject to the card terms. Medallion and SkyTeam benefits can change the allowance further.
Use Delta's official baggage page for excess weight, size, sports equipment, and route-specific fees. Third parties are not authorized to sell Delta checked baggage in advance.
