Norwegian Air Shuttle (branded simply as "Norwegian") is Scandinavia's largest low-cost carrier and one of Europe's top three budget airlines. Headquartered at Fornebu near Oslo, Norway, the airline operates an extensive short and medium-haul network focused on Scandinavia, with connections throughout Europe and to select destinations in North Africa and the Middle East.

Founded in 1993 to operate regional routes in western Norway following Busy Bee's bankruptcy, Norwegian transformed into a low-cost carrier in 2002 and has since grown to serve over 100 destinations. The airline carried 22.6 million passengers in 2024 and operates a fleet of approximately 95 Boeing 737-800 and 737 MAX 8 aircraft, with plans to transition to an all-MAX fleet by 2030.

Norwegian previously operated long-haul routes to the Americas and Asia but discontinued all intercontinental services in 2021 to focus on its core European network. The airline acquired regional carrier Wideroe in 2023, integrating its frequent flyer program in late 2025.

Size enforcement: Norwegian checks bag dimensions at the gate. Bags that don't fit the sizer will be checked into the hold for a fee (NOK 550+ / €50+).

Norwegian charges for checked bags on all fares except Flex (2 bags included) and LowFare+ (1 bag included).
